Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sanalu Cleaning Service?
We are a local maid and janitorial service. Based in Suwanee, Georgia,
we clean homes and offices all across the north Atlanta metropolitan area.
What is the meaning of "Sanalu"?
Sanalu was founded by Monica Romero Schultz. "Sanalu" is a word we made up
by combining the first two letters of the name of each of Monica's three
children: SAntiago, NAthaly, and LUis.

Do you clean carpet?
No, we do not clean carpet. We are not even convinced that really cleaning carpet is possible.
If you are going to get your carpet cleaned, though, we recommend that you use
a method that minimizes the amount of water or soap left behind.
One company that deserves consideration is ChemDry.

Do you do windows?
We clean the window sills and frames. We do not clean window panes as part
of a routine cleaning. We can clean window panes and occasionally do clean window panes when requested. Ordinarily we only clean window panes that
are accessible using an extension pole and without climbing on a ladder.

What services do you perform when cleaning a house?
We do a detailed top-to-bottom house cleaning. See the Residential page.
Top
What cleaning products do you use?
Our vacuum cleaners are Oreck uprights. The liquids we use are ordinary
household cleaners found at Walmart or Home Depot, such as Windex and Greased Lightning. We avoid using ammonia and rarely use bleach, since ammonia and bleach are toxic chemicals.

May I provide my own cleaning products?
We provide our own vacuums and cleaning materials. However, if you insist
for your own reasons that we use your supplies, we will gladly do so.
If so, please be sure to provide us with a vacuum that works very well.

Will you send the same workers to my home every time?
Once we get you on our schedule, you'll be on the schedule for a specific
crew. That same crew will clean your house every time. From time to time a
situation may arise that will necessitate our sending a different crew.
We'll contact you for approval before doing so.

Do you use a rotation system?
Some cleaning companies use a rotation system, which means that
some things get detail cleaned on one trip, while other things get detail cleaned on the next trip. While there is nothing wrong with a rotation
system, at Sanalu we take a little different approach. With us, every
cleaning is a comprehensive cleaning.
The first cleaning requires more time and effort than subsequent cleanings. For example, on the first cleaning, baseboards, blinds, and fans usually have to be wiped with a damp cloth. Afterwards, the cleanliness of those items can be maintained by dusting.

I'm not interested in ongoing service. Can you clean my house just once?
Yes, of course we will be happy to clean your house just once. Many people hire us to clean their house after moving out or before moving in.
Top
Do you provide janitorial service to offices?
Yes, we clean both homes and offices. If you need janitorial service, please contact us so that we can discuss your needs.
Top
Do I have to be home when you clean my house?
If possible, we would appreciate your meeting our workers the first time they go to your home. After the first visit, whether or not you are at home is
entirely up to you.
Top
Do you make beds, wash clothes, and wash dishes?
We will make beds if you request this service and leave clean linens on the beds for us. We can wash clothes and dishes by special arrangement. Please let us know when you first contact us if you need those services.
Top
How often will I need to get my house cleaned?
Most customers get their house cleaned biweekly, every other week on the same day of week and at the same time. A few customers, though, opt for a cleaning once weekly or once every four weeks.
Top
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
If you must cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. Although we have never charged a customer for a canceled appointment, we lose money when a customer cancels an appointment. Not only do we miss out on the customer's payment, but if the customer does not give much notice, we lose the opportunity to schedule some other customer in the skipped time slot.
Top
Do your workers arrive on time?
Our crews should almost always be on time for the first cleaning of the day. It is not always possible for them to be right on time for cleanings after the first. If arrival time is very important to you, please let us know.
Top
How long will it take to clean my house?
The amount of time needed to clean your house will depend on how large the house is and how dirty the house is. The first cleaning of a 3BR/2.5BA home will typically take four to five hours. Biweekly cleanings of that home after the first cleaning will take two and a half or three hours.
Top
What days and hours are you available?
For the cleaning of houses, we have three time slots every day, Monday through Saturday. The time slots are approximately 8:30am, 12:00pm (noon), and 3:30pm. We do not clean houses on Sundays.

Why should I choose Sanalu to clean my house?
